US Open Day 1 Picks

With the mayhem and carnage about to take place at Shinnecock, we are all gearing up for another epic major. Phil going for the slam, Tiger making his return to the US Open, Spieth, Rory, DJ, JT, Rickie, Rose, the list is endless. Whatta time to be a golf fan.

We have a lot to look forward to and a ton of storylines. If you are betting futures, the weather forecast favors Thursday morning/Friday afternoon groups heading into the weekend due to the others getting 20 MPH winds, 30 MPH gusts.

In a normal world the low ball hitter or golfers who do well at the Open would do well in those conditions, which would eliminate a Jason Day. But golf is insanely unpredictable. A lot of stuff that happens makes zero sense.

Patrick Reed winning the Masters for instance. He had one top 10 in 16 majors and his Masters history was cut, 22nd, 49th, cut. You can make educated guesses but a lot of times it doesn’t add up on the bottom line.

Regardless, my day 1 picks:

Jimmy Walker +106 1 unit over Louis Oosthuizen

Tyrell Hatton +104 2 units over Ian Poulter

Daniel Berger -116 3 units over Kevin Chappell

Jordan Spieth -102 2 units over Rory McIlroy

Hideki Matsuyama -130 2 units over Marc Leishman

Matt Kuchar +108 1 unit over Bryson Decahmbeau

Rickie Fowler-127 2 units over Hideki Matsuyama

Patrick Rodgers -108 2 units over Shubhankar Sharma

Jon Rahm -130 4 units over Sergio Garcia

Emiliano Grillo -120 3 units over Keegan Bradley

Tommy Fleetwood -110 2 units over Alexander Noreen

Cameron Smith -117 1 unit over Pat Perez

Justin Thomas -124 2 units over Tiger Woods

Dustin Johnson -120 3 units over Justin Thomas

Adam Scott +116 1 unit over Henrik Stenson

Ross Fisher +108 2 units over Kevin Kisner

See you kids tomorrow #GetUnits
